More snow for New York City
The New York City area saw some snow Friday morning. The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for northeast New Jersey, lower Hudson Valley, New York City, Long Island, and southwest Connecticut. You can expect moderate snow and reduced visibility. A Winter Storm Warning was in effect for Suffolk County.
The New York City Emergency Management Department issued a travel advisory for Friday. "New Yorkers are asked to exercise caution and be prepared for limited visibility and slippery road conditions," the city's Notify NYC service said in an alert.
The snow pulled away in the late morning. Thunder snow was reported on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
Much of the snow had melted in Manhattan by late afternoon.
