NYC ICE shooting raises questions about federal agents' authority
An ICE enforcement operation turned violent in Marble Hill after ICE agents shot 28-year-old Oscar Belgal. Belgal was shot while inside a Honda CR-V with a 5-year-old child, believed to be his son, in the back seat. While federal officials claim agents opened fire in self-defense, local and state leaders, including Gov. Hochul and Mayor Mamdani, strongly condemned the shooting.
