NYC bus plan aims to speed up service across all 5 boroughs
Gov. Kathy Hochul and Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced a plan aimed at making bus service faster across New York City. FOX 5’s Jessica Formoso reports from Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn, where work is already underway. The plan includes dedicated center bus lanes, redesigned roads, new traffic signals that give buses priority, additional bus lane cameras and expanded all-door boarding. Officials say the first five rapid bus corridors will include Tremont-Cross Bronx, Northern Boulevard, Flatbush Avenue, Utica Avenue and Kingston-JFK.
