New NYC bills would let NYPD seize illegal e-bikes that top 20 mph

New York City lawmakers are proposing more than a dozen measures aimed at cracking down on illegal electric motorcycles and e-bikes after a teenager was killed in a crash last month. The bills would give police new tools to test devices and confiscate those that exceed 20 mph, while also creating a trade-in program for illegal or unsafe bikes.
