SpaceX rocket takes flight

Twenty-seven engines roared into life Tuesday afternoon. Thick plumes of white smoke unfolded from the Florida launching pad and within seconds the Falcon Heavy was airborne. The heavy climbed against the backdrop of a clear blue sky. SpaceX has decided against flying passengers on the Heavy and instead will accelerate development of an even bigger rocket to accommodate deep-space crews.
