One day after being indicted by the feds, Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota announced his retirement. Spota and Christopher McPartland, the chief of the anti-corruption bureau, are accused of crossing the line in a case of police brutality that led to the conviction of the county's then-police chief.
