On the ground in White Hall, Jamaica: Rebuilding after Hurricane Melissa with Nikki Z | Newsroom Live

After spending the past three years traveling through Africa, Nikki Z has returned home to Jamaica in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa — one of the most devastating storms to hit the island in recent years. Now on the ground in White Hall, Westmoreland, near the border of St. Elizabeth, she’s working side by side with locals to help families rebuild and recover. Welcomed by reggae artist Warrior King and his family, Nikki has joined community-led efforts through the Adopt-a-Family Jamaica (Warrior King Family Shelter Initiative) — a mission to restore hope one home at a time. The initiative focuses on providing immediate shelter first, then supporting families through the full rebuilding process. Supporters are encouraged to “adopt” a family, offering ongoing aid until each household is back on stable ground. 💛 Support the ongoing relief efforts: Sean Paul Foundation x Food For The Poor Jamaica: https://www.foodforthepoorja.org/seanpaulfoundation Shaggy Make a Difference Foundation x Global Empowerment Mission (Hurricane Melissa Relief): https://www.globalempowermentmission.org/mission/hurricane-melissa Nikki Z’s Adopt-a-Family Jamaica (Warrior King Family Shelter Initiative): https://gofund.me/4223d30fa Follow Nikki’s journey as she documents life after the storm — capturing the strength, spirit, and solidarity of Jamaicans rebuilding together after Hurricane Melissa.
