
NYC caregiver program faces major overhaul
New York’s Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP) allows families to hire and pay caregivers for their loved ones, but a major overhaul is set to take effect on April 1st. Governor Kathy Hochul says the change will cut down on fraud and save Medicaid millions, but families fear it will result in fewer benefits and higher workloads for caregivers.
