Augmented Reality revives ‘The Gates’ in NYC
A beloved NYC art installation is making a comeback—this time through augmented reality. Bloomberg Philanthropies is reviving Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s The Gates, the iconic 2005 public art project that lined 23 miles of Central Park with striking saffron-colored fabric. Now, thanks to AR technology, visitors can once again walk beneath the virtual gates using the Bloomberg Connects app. FOX 5’s Duarte Geraldino explores how the project is being reimagined and what visitors can expect from this immersive experience.
