'Purlie Victorious' up for 6 Tony Awards

The 77th Tony Awards are taking place this Sunday at Lincoln Center, and while we're excited to see the stars on stage -- one actress is making history with her nomination. "Purlie Victorious" was groundbreaking when it premiered on Broadway in 1961, with Martin Luther King visiting the cast for their 100th performance. Now, the play revival of "Purlie Victorious" is up for six Tony nominations, including one for Kara Young, who is nominated as best featured actress in a play for portraying Lutibelle. She's become the first black actor (male or female) to be nominated for a Tony three years in a row ... first for "Clyde's," then "Cost of living" and now "Purlie Victorious." Good Day’s Ryan Kristafer caught up with Kara Young to learn what this historic moment means to the actress.
