Desperation grows in Gaza as Israel attacks intensify

The morgue at Gaza’s biggest hospital, Shifa in Gaza City, is overflowing on the sixth day of heavy aerial bombardment on the territory of 2.3 million people. Scores of Palestinians are being crushed each day in the rubble from a relentless Israeli onslaught on Gaza, which comes in response to an unprecedented Hamas attack in southern Israel.
