Suffolk County reveals findings in ransomware attack investigation

Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone has admitted to various flaws within the county that led to a ransomware attack compromising the data of nearly half a million residents. An outside cybersecurity agency completed a 40-page forensic report, which revealed criminal actors gained entry to County Clerk servers before launching a full-blown attack.
