In a damning depiction of Donald Trump, Michael Cohen, who pleaded guilty last year to lying to Congress, cast the president as a racist and conman who used his inner circle to cover up politically damaging allegations about sex and lied about his business interests in Russia throughout the campaign that sent him to the White House.

Michael Cohen sentenced to prison

Michael Cohen, President Trump's former lawyer, has been sentenced to three years in prison plus three years' probation and must pay nearly $2 million in fines, forfeiture, and restitution. Cohen arrived with his family at Manhattan's federal court after pleading guilty to tax evasion, bank fraud, campaign finance violations, and lying to Congress.

Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump's former personal lawyer and fixer, pleaded guilty Tuesday to campaign-finance violations and other charges, saying Trump directed him to arrange the payment of hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels and a former Playboy model to influence the election.

President Donald Trump says the new addition to his legal team, Rudy Giuliani, will "get his facts straight." Trump, speaking to reporters Friday, suggested that Giuliani had misspoken about reimbursements to the president's personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, for payments to porn star Stormy Daniels as part of a nondisclosure agreement.

The Russia probe clearly is still on President Donald Trump's mind. On Twitter Friday, the president appeared to confirm he is under investigation for his firing of former FBI Director James Comey. "I am being investigated for firing the FBI Director by the man who told me to fire the FBI Director! Witch hunt," the president tweeted.
