Police pulled the bodies of two women from the shore of the Hudson River Wednesday afternoon. Responding to a 911 call, officers found the women lying on the rocks near West 68th Street on Manhattan's West Side just after 2:30 p.m., the NYPD said. The bodies were fully clothed and bound together with duct tape, a police source said.

But authorities quickly launched a wide-ranging investigation into the devices that targeted multiple Democrats — including two former presidents, and CNN in New York.

The squad's goal is always to remove any immediate danger of the explosive device while keeping as much of it intact for forensic evidence.
