Long Island?s MacArthur Airport is home to three major airlines: Southwest, Frontier, and American. Some have suggested that a defect may lie in one of the Max 8's new systems designed to automatically balance the plane by adjusting its trajectory. Authorities worry that a faulty sensor reading in that system could cause the plane to over-correct.
