Rallies held for the New York Mets

NEW YORK (AP) — Fans of the New York Mets expressed their pride and support at rallies in Queens and Nassau County on Monday.

The rallies took place the day before the World Series between the Mets and the Kansas City Royals starts. Game one is Tuesday night in Kansas City.

In Queens, the rally was scheduled for 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at Queens Borough Hall. Queens Borough President Melinda Katz says former Mets players John Franco and Edgardo Alfonzo were scheduled to make appearances.

At 5 p.m., Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano hosted a rally at the county' executive building in Mineola. The building's dome will be lit in blue and orange, the Mets' colors
