Jameis Winston, Titus O'Neil inspire kids in Tampa
TAMPA, Fla. - WWE Superstar Titus O'Neil hosted the Champions of Character Day at Perry Harvey Sr. Park Thursday.
Using his own story, he wants to inspire kids to do things the right way.
"I come from a single parent in the projects, been homeless, all that, don't tell me what can't be done," he told the kids.
Bucs QB Jameis Winston also spoke to the teens, encouraging them to take control of their own destiny.
"I'm trying to get better every single day, never stop getting better never, stop getting better listen to that," he said.
The event also helped to foster relationships between kids and cops, especially during this wave of anti-police sentiment across the country.
"Our youth is our future so we got to get the message out that everybody can work together," said Tampa Police Major Rocky Ratliff.
The kids learned fundamentals through having fun with some Tampa Bay titans.
"Love every single person you come in contact with and love yourself enough so you wont allow yourself fail," O'Neil said.
