Yankees and Mets give back for Thanksgiving
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NEWS) - It's the season of giving, and events this one are an absolute home run. Whether it's providing a turkey or serving up a hot meal, both teams are giving back to the community to make it a special Thanksgiving holiday for all.
Year, the Yankees organization partnered up with the supportive Children's Advocacy Network to host an early Thanksgiving feast for hundreds of families.
Meanwhile the Bronx kid who now plays in Queens, TJ Rivera, was the face of the Metsgiving initiative. The New York Mets joined community partners to give away more than 500 turkeys to families across all five boroughs. Rivera helped hand-deliver complete Thanksgiving Day meals to 25 families.
So today we can agree: no matter which team you call yours, full bellies and happy faces is something we can all root for.
