Woman terrified after man hurls gas cap through her window
ATLANTA - A woman says experienced a terrifying random attack in downtown Atlanta while she was waiting in her car.
Early Monday morning, the woman, who has asked not to be identified for her own safety, was sitting in a rental car on Marietta Street when she said she was attacked randomly.
She was coming home from an out-of-town trip and was waiting for a relative to come by with her dog when a man walked by her parked car. She said he motioned towards her car with "finger guns," but then started walking away.
All of a sudden, the woman said the same man appeared right next to her car and smashed a metal gas cap from the street into her passenger side window. Glass went everywhere, and she thought it was a bomb at first.
As she screamed, she saw the man walking off. She said she immediately called 911. Police came and took a report, but the man responsible has not been found.
The woman describes the attacker as a white male with an average build wearing a white T-shirt and a white bandana on his head.
She is hoping someone saw him and will report him to police. She said until he is caught, she will not feel safe in the area.
