Woman posed as psychologist for years: Cops
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - A woman who treated hundreds of children and adults while posing as a psychologist for several years was arrested in Virginia.
Sharonda L. Avery, 42, of Spotsylvania, was charged Thursday with obtaining money by false pretenses, passing a forged document, perjury and practicing psychology without a license
Several victims claimed that they or their children had been misdiagnosed by Avery, who did not have a degree from any college or university, according to police.
Avery began working at a medical practice in 2012. She was later fired and the practice closed.
