Woman pinned between car, pump in gas station dies
NEW YORK (FOX5NY) - A woman was arrested on driving under the influence of drugs charges after she was involved in a deadly crash at a Long Island gas station on Saturday.
Police say that Renee McKinney had attempted to make a right turn into a Mobil gas station on William Floyd Parkway in Shirley, but missed and knocked over a gas pump.
Rosalie Koenig was pumping gas on the other side of the pump when she became pinned in between her car and the gas pump.
Koenig, 62, of Mastic, was transferred to Stony Brook University Hospital but died in surgery.
McKinney and her passenger, were taken to the hospital as a precaution, but had no injuries. McKinney, 52, was arrested and charged for driving while ability impaired by drugs and was scheduled to be arraigned on Monday.
