Woman losses legs after being run over by subway train

A New York woman lost both of her legs after being run over by a train aver passing out on a subway platform and falling onto the tracks.

It happened about 10:20 p.m. at the 14th Street and 7th Avenue station in Manhattan.  The NYPD says the woman, who was in her 30s was on the southbound platform of the Number 3 line.

The train came into the station and ran over her, severing her legs.  She was rushed to Bellevue hospital in critical condition.

Police do not suspect any criminality in the case but were continuing to investigate.  The victim's name was not released.

The incident followed an earlier accident where a man was hit at the 14th Street and 7th Avenue station where a man got his leg caught between a train and the platform.
