Woman fatally struck by bus in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (AP) — Police say a 62-year-old woman crossing a street in Brooklyn has been struck and killed by a bus.

The MTA B36 bus was travelling eastbound on Avenue Z and made a left turn onto East 17th Street, striking the unidentified woman. It happened just before 6 p.m. Monday.

The woman, identified as Eleonora Shulkina, of Brooklyn, was taken to Coney Island Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police say the driver of the bus remained at the scene.

There have been no arrests.
