Woman fatally stabbed inside Brooklyn YWCA

NEW YORK (AP) — Police say a woman has been arrested on murder and other charges after stabbing another woman to death inside a YWCA in New York City.

The New York Police Department says 55-year-old Dorothy Curry stabbed 48-year-old Liza Millet at the YWCA in downtown Brooklyn at about 7 a.m. Saturday.

The victim was stabbed multiple times and was taken to New York Methodist Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police say Curry was arrested on murder and weapons possession charges. It wasn't immediately clear if she had an attorney who could comment on the allegations.

The Brooklyn YWCA's website says it provides "affordable, safe, permanent housing" for more than 300 women.
