Woman ejected in crash with tractor-trailer in NJ

A woman was ejected from her minivan after a tractor-trailer struck the vehicle on Route 78 in Union Friday, according to NJ State Police.

The woman was driving a Honda Odyssey minivan when she was reportedly struck from behind by the 18-wheel tractor-trailer around 7 a.m. The crash caused the tractor trailer to overturn, reported NJ.com.

The driver of the minivan was rushed to a local hospital and was expected to survive. It is not clear if the driver of the tractor-trailer was injured.

All but one of the eastbound local lanes of Route 78 were reopened as of 10 a.m.

Delays were reported to be five miles long and almost as bad on the westbound lanes due to rubbernecking as crews up-righted the large vehicle.
