Woman charged in death of 6-month-old

WOODBRIDGE, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say a 62-year-old New Jersey woman has been charged in the death of a 6-month-old boy she was babysitting.

Middlesex County prosecutor Andrew Carey tells MyCentralJersey.com Marianne McIntire-Caulfield, of Woodbridge Township, has been charged with second-degree endangerment of the welfare of a child.

William Vidaurre died Dec. 1. Carey says McIntire-Caulfield called police earlier that day after noticing the child in "distress."

She was taking care of eight infants in her home.

Authorities have not said what caused the child's death.

It's unclear whether McIntire-Caulfield has an attorney who could comment.

She was being held on $100,000 bail.
