Wind flips tractor trailer on George Washington Bridge

NEW YORK (FOX5NY) - A tractor trailer accident on the George Washington Bridge shut down all lanes on the upper level Wednesday night.

High winds caused the tractor trailer to flip over into the westbound lanes.  It happened about 9:45 p.m.  No one was hurt, but traffic was backed up for hours.

A line of strong thunderstorms rumbled across the region on Wednesday night causing trees to come down and power outages.  New York City had issued a high wind warning in advance of the storm.
