VIDEO: Attempted robbery suspect shoots victim in Port Richmond
PORT RICHMOND (WTXF) - Philadelphia Police are looking for a man they say attempted to rob another man before shooting him in the leg in Port Richmond.
The incident occurred on this past Sunday around 6:20 a.m. on the 300 block of East Thompson Street.
Police arrived to find a 47-year-old man lying on the ground on the 2600 block of Elkhart Street with a gunshot wound to his left leg.
Surveillance video shows the victim walking down East Thompson Street, when a unknown man armed with a handgun approached him, demanding his belongings.
The victim then attempted to flee on foot, when police say the suspect chased him onto Elkhart Street and fired his gun, striking the victim in the left leg.
The suspect was seen entering the rear driver side door of a dark 4-door vehicle driven by an unknown person, and was last seen heading north on Thompson.
The suspect is described as a white male, 20-years-old, wearing a gray hoodie and blue jeans.
