Va. girl holds birthday party at Walmart store for good cause
WINCHESTER, Va. - A Virginia girl held her seventh birthday party at a place you wouldn’t really expect – her local Walmart store.
Madalyyn Neff, a second grade student at Mountain View Christian Academy in Winchester, hosted her friends and family at the store located in Stephens City. In addition to fun and games, the little girl’s celebration was also for a good cause.
Instead of receiving presents, Neff asked all of her partygoers to bring non-perishable food so it could be donated to the Church of Christ at Mountain View’s food pantry. She did the same thing last year for her birthday and with the help of her friends, they were able to donate 75 pounds of food. But she wanted to top that this year.
On her big day this past Saturday, she collected 1,000 pounds of food in just 90 minutes from the people who attended the party along with other Walmart shoppers.
Happy birthday and great job Madalyyn!
