Truck driver on fire survives crash

One of the truck drivers behind the wheel of Wednesday night's fiery crash on the NJ Turnpike ran from the vehicle after his leg caught fire.

He survived and was expected to recover.

All lanes of the NJ Turnpike in East Brunswick reopened earlier Thursday morning.

The northbound truck lanes were shut down between Interchanges 6 and 9. Traffic was being diverted onto the car lanes.

Crews moved quickly to clean up the mess.

The accident happened on the northbound lanes near mile marker 83.

Officials said two people suffered minor injuries at about 7:30 p.m.
