Tornado Watch expires for New Jersey

UPDATE: The tornado watch has expired.

The National Weather Service has extended a Tornado Watch to much of New Jersey. It is in effect until 1 a.m. Thursday.

The counties under the watch are Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Somerset, Sussex, and Warren.

Severe thunderstorms that can produce tornadoes are moving across the Mid-Atlantic and Tristate areas. Other weather alerts are in effect, including Wind Advisories and Flood Watches.
