NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - A man in Massachusetts who police say stabbed a woman inside his home was Tasered by responding cops and later died.
Erich Stelzer, 25, had repeatedly stabbed and slashed the 24-year-old woman before she managed to escape the home in Cohasset at around 10 p.m. on Dec. 27, said cops.
The victim, who was identified by local media outlets as Maegan Tipley, had reportedly met Stelzer on the dating app 'Tinder.'
Tipley was rushed to a local hospital and was expected to recover.
Stelzer died on his way to the hospital, according to police.
Results from an autopsy were pending.
In a statement to MassLIVE.com, the Stelzer family said Erich "was experiencing delusions, erratic behavior and extreme paranoia" in the days leading up to his death.
They were concerned he was having a "psychotic break" on Christmas Day.
