The Lords of 52nd Street reunite
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - They are the original Billy Joel band from the 1970s and 80s. Appearing on albums including 52nd Street and videos like My Life. Now they're the Lords of 52nd Street and they are getting on with their own lives.
Saxophonist Richie Cannata, drummer Liberty DeVitto and Russell Javors are reuniting, two years after they were inducted into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame. Original member Doug Stegmeyer died in 1995.
Last year, Cannata was diagnosed with lymphoma. He says the music sped up his recovery -- music they were all a part of.
As Billy Joel continues his record run at Madison Square Garden, The divorce from his original bandmates has been tough. The reunion is bittersweet, but the music remains.
