Texas police officer races away from skunk he just saved

A police officer in eastern Texas opted not to see if he got a “thank you” after saving a skunk who had its head stuck in a carton in the town of White Oak on November 22.

White Oak police officer Brian Russell was out on patrol when he came across the animal in distress, according to reports.

Dashcam footage released by the White Oak Police Department shows Officer Russell calmly approach the skunk in a parking lot before leaning down to swiftly remove the carton. He then hightailed it across the pavement.

Russell emerged from the incident unscathed, White Oak police said.

“Our very own hero was caught on camera saving a skunk that had its head stuck in a carton,” the department said.
