Teen charged in fatal Jersey City shooting

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) — Authorities have charged a teenage boy in the fatal shooting of man killed in Jersey City last year.

Hudson County prosecutors did not disclose the specific charges against the 17-year-old boy who was arrested Thursday. They also did not release his name due to his age.

The teen is charged in the August 2015 shooting death of Kempton Cummings. The 25-year-old Jersey City man was shot in the lower back near McGinley Square and later died at a hospital.

A possible motive for the shooting has not been disclosed.

The teen was being held in a juvenile detention facility.
