Suspect charged in murder of bodega owner

NEW YORK (FOX5NY.COM) - The NYPD has arrested a suspect in the murder of a beloved bodega owner in Brooklyn.

Authorities accuse Mark Thomas, 41, of shooting Abdulla Yafaee, 80, after arguing over 50 cents inside Yafaee's deli in East New York on Tuesday evening.

Yafaee was hit in the chest. EMS brought him to Brookdale Hospital, where he died.

Police charged Thomas with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
