The NYPD has arrested a Queens man suspected of smashing the windshields of a car and attacking its driver with a bike lock.

Authorities charged Emilio Carpenay, 25, of Queens, with second-degree assault and criminal mischief in connection with the alarming incident, which happened at about 1:20 p.m. on Jan. 18 in Midtown Manhattan.

A 23-year-old Uber driver was at the wheel of a Kia sedan that was stopped in traffic when Carpenay used the lock to smash the windows, shattering the glass, police said. To avoid being injured from the glass, the driver got out of the car but then Carpenay hit him on the head with the lock, police said.

A video of the incident shows a man police identified as the suspect climbing onto the roof of the Kia and stomping on it while screaming.

The victim was treated and released from a nearby hospital.
