Supermodel Bella Hadid has Lyme disease
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' star Yolanda Foster, who has struggled with Lyme disease for nearly four years, announced that her daughter, supermodel Bella Hadid, 17, and son Anwar Hadid,16, have the debilitating condition, too.
Foster, Hadid and sister, supermodel Gigi Hadid, were in attendance at the United for a Lyme-Free World event at Cipriani 42nd St. on Thursday night.
Good Day New York co-host Rosanna Scotto was the emcee. She spoke with Gigi Hadid about her mother's condition.
"It was really hard for her. She felt like she was letting us down when she missed our events," said Hadid.
Lyme disease is most common tick-borne illness in North America and Europe. It is transmitted by the bite of an infected blacklegged tick, according to the Mayo Clinic.
Symptoms include fever, chills, fatigue, body aches and a headache may accompany the rash.
