Students' frantic texts as bus driver falls asleep

SHELTON, Conn. (AP) - A Shelton bus driver has been arrested after police allege he repeatedly dozed off while driving 30 students.

Paul Pixley, of Derby, was charged Tuesday with 30 counts of risk of injury to a minor in the Dec. 16 incident.

He is due in court Wednesday.

It wasn't immediately known if he has an attorney.

Police say officers didn't find any children on board but detectives determined there had been 30 students. The students apparently got off at earlier stops.

The Shelton Public School District says Pixley will never drive for the district again.
