Steve-O of 'Jackass' gets 30 days in jail for SeaWorld stunt
LOS ANGELES (AP) — "Jackass" star Steve-O has been sentenced to 30 days in jail after pleading no contest to misdemeanor charges filed after he staged a protest against SeaWorld atop a crane in Hollywood last month.
Los Angeles City Attorney's spokesman Frank Mateljan says Steve-O, whose real name is Stephen Glover, pleaded no contest Wednesday to trespassing and illegal use of fireworks. Mateljan says he was also sentenced three years of probation and ordered to reimburse the city nearly $14,000 for its emergency response.
Glover was charged with creating a false emergency, vandalism and several fireworks violations after his Aug. 9 protest high above a construction site drew a large police and fire response.
The 41-year-old is known for his outlandish stunts in the "Jackass" TV show and movies.
