Son accused of slashing mother's throat
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - A 22-year-old Manhattan man and his alleged two accomplices were arraigned on charges of dumping a corpse believed to be the man's mother in a house in New Jersey.
Jared Eng allegedly slashed his mother in the throat after an argument, reported the NY Post. The NYPD comfirmed Eng, Caitlyn O’Rourke, 21, and Jennifer Lopez, 18, were charged with tampering with evidence and concealment of a corpse on Thursday.
A homicide investigation was underway but the medical examiner had not yet determined if Paula Chin's death was a homicide.
According to the Post, O'Rourke told police that Eng admitted to killing his mother. Investigators believe Eng became angry when his mother demanded he repay a sum of money he took from her.
Her body was allegedly taken from Chin's apartment on Vestry Street in Manhattan in the trunk of a car and dumped at a home the family owned in Morristown.
Eng reportedly denied the killing and claimed he went to the house to pick up his coin collection for rent money.
He was held without bail. O'Rourke was held on $25,000 cash bail and Lopez was held on $100,000 bail.
