Shannen Doherty announces she is in remission from breast cancer

Shannen Doherty had good news to share with everyone!

The 46-year-old actress has announced that she is in remission following her breast cancer diagnosis, as reported by E! News.

Doherty was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2015, and has since been open with her fans about her situation, documenting her struggle, yet staying positive.

“Moments. They happen. Today was and is a moment,” she wrote on Instagram, “What does remission mean? I heard that word and have no idea how to react. Good news? YES. Overwhelming. YES. Now more waiting.”

“I am blessed,I know that. But for now… remission. I’m going to just breathe. #cancerslayer”

Going forward, Doherty is aware she'll be making a lot of decisions the next few years regarding her health, but right now, she is just grateful for being a “cancer slayer.”
