Sex assaults reported in Brooklyn school

The NYPD is investigating reports of sexual assaults of five boys at a Brooklyn school.

It happened at the It Takes a Village Academy in East Flatbush, Brooklyn.  Police say the victims are all 14-years-old and the assaults appear to have taken place over the course of a few months.

Older students tried to sexually assault freshman in the boys' locker room according to reports.  One boy said that a group of boys had been targeting him after gym class since the beginning of the year.

In the latest attack, the 14-year-old reportedly claimed that the boys pinned him to a wall and tried to stick their fingers into his buttocks.  The Daily News reported that the school never reported the attack to police.

The suspects are other students but police say there have been no arrests as the investigation is taking place.

The city Department of Education calls the allegations "deeply troubling" and says a school principal has been reassigned pending the outcome of the investigation.

It Takes a Village Academy has more than 700 students in grades 9-12 according to the city schools website.
