Roger Ailes responds to lawsuit

NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - Roger Ailes, Chairman and CEO of FOX News and Chairman of FOX Television Stations, is responding to a sexual harassment lawsuit from former FOX News anchor Gretchen Carlson.

"Gretchen Carlson's allegations are false.  This is a retaliatory suit for the network's decision not to renew her contract, which was due to the fact that her disappointingly low ratings were dragging down the afternoon lineup,” said Mr. Ailes.

21st Century FOX, the corporate parent of FOX News and FOX 5, also put out a statement supporting Ailes saying it has started an internal review of the matter.
