Road tripping with the KKK's Grand Dragon

When the Ku Klux Klan plans a rally several hours away from their headquarters, how do you get there? Road trip.

This past Saturday, the South Carolina State House looked more like the 1960s than the 2010s. While the New Black Panther rallied on one side, the Ku Klux Klan rallied on the other.

The KKK made the trip to protest the removal of the Confederate flag from state grounds. They say it's a symbol of heritage, not hate.

The Loyal White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan insist that they're no longer a hate group but a civil rights organization for white people. Before they arrived in Columbia, they made the drive down and Charlie LeDuff went along for the ride.

So what was it like riding with the Klan's Grand Dragon? Buckle up for the next Americans with Charlie LeDuff.
