Rapper Troy Ave arrested in Irving Plaza shooting
NEW YORK (FOX5NY) - Police on Thursday arrested rapper Troy Ave in connection with Wednesday's deadly shooting at Irving Plaza, sources told Fox 5 News. Cops charged Troy Ave, whose real name is Roland Collins, with attempted murder and more. He was also wounded in the incident.
The gunshots broke out backstage Wednesday night after a fight reportedly between two rival crews associated with rapper Maino and Troy Ave. But in a statement, Maino said his team was not involved in the shooting and that he and Troy have always gotten along.
A 33-year-old male victim shot in the stomach was pronounced dead at Beth Israel Hospital, said police. Police identified him as Ronald McPhatter, the brother of Shanduke McPhatter, an anti-violence advocate.
A 26-year-old woman was shot in the leg and a 34-year-old man shot in the chest were listed in stable condition at Bellevue Hospital.
The NYPD said security camera video shows a fight broke out in the venue and then a man is seen firing a gun at the crowded concert. Sources told Fox 5 that the man in the video is Troy Ave.

The NYPD responded with a massive mobilization and remained on the scene Thursday.
