Rapper Kamaiyah arrested after airport tirade
WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. (AP) - Rapper Kamaiyah has been arrested at a Connecticut airport after state police say she refused to remove a head cover that set off a checkpoint alarm and went on a profanity-laced tirade against security officers.
The 26-year-old hip hop artist from Oakland, California, was charged with breach of peace and interfering with police Friday morning at Bradley International Airport. She posted $5,000 bail and was ordered to appear in court June 6.
Kamaiyah Johnson hit the scene in 2015 with her debut single "How Does It Feel" and appeared in a Sprite commercial this year with basketball star LeBron James. She did not immediately return a message Friday. State police say she was arrested after she refused to leave the airport and continued being aggressive toward officers.
