Queens assault suspect caught in South Carolina
NEW YORK (FOX5NY.COM) - A suspect in the brutal beating of a woman in Queens is in custody, officials said. Authorities arrested Ronald Williams at a motel in Columbia, South Carolina, Tuesday morning.
He is suspected of beating a 52-year-old woman unconscious in Kew Gardens Hills on April 30. Police found her at the bottom of an exterior staircase near 72nd Road and Kissena Boulevard.
She was unconscious and had trauma to her face and body. Her face was unrecognizable and her skull was fractured, a source told Fox 5. Authorities said she may have been sexually assaulted.
Police are holding Williams on a probation violation and will extradite him to New York City.
