Purse ripped from woman walking with cane
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - A 68-year-old woman who was using a cane to cross the street in Brooklyn was brutally robbed of her purse.
Video of the incident on Oct. 22 at about 7:27 p.m. was released by the NYPD.
The woman was approached from behind by the robber who had first spotted her on the sidewalk. He appears to follow her into the crosswalk at Watkins St. and Pitkin Ave. and then grabs the purse and pulls away knocking her to the ground.
A second suspect served as a lookout, said police. Both fled the scene northbound on Watkins St.
The victim suffered pain and bruising to her body and was treated by EMS on the scene.
Police are looking for the suspects. The first individual is a male, last seen wearing a dark colored hooded sweater, a light colored jacket, gray sweatpants and black sneakers.
The second individual is a male, last seen wearing a light colored hooded sweater, a dark colored jacket, dark colored pants and white sneakers.
