Prosecutor: Boyfriend charged in death of woman found in car

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - The boyfriend of a missing woman whose body was found in the trunk of her car has been charged with her murder.

Essex County prosecutors say Pedro Lora-Pena also faces two weapons counts and a charge of moving or concealing human remains. It wasn't known Wednesday if the 42-year-old Belleville man has retained an attorney.

Lora-Pena is charged in the death of 41-year-old Diana Boggio, who had been reported missing on Saturday.

The Belleville woman was found around 9 a.m. Tuesday in a car parked on Verona Avenue in Newark. Prosecutors say a preliminary investigation found Lora-Pena killed Boggio at another location and then brought her body to Newark

Authorities declined further comment on the matter, citing the ongoing investigation.

A cause of death has not been determined.
